The study validates Batchelor's Law, which is a prediction of ratios for large-scale phenomena involving fluid mechanics. Despite the success of Batchelor’s prediction, no mathematical justification exists outside of highly restrictive settings or toy models. Blumenthal and his colleagues report their recent mathematical results on passive scalar mixing, and the first proof of Batchelor’s Law.
