{"652805":{"#nid":"652805","#data":{"type":"news","title":"2022 Student IoT Innovation Capacity Building Challenge now accepting project proposal submissions","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EThe Center for the Development and Application of Internet of Things Technologies (CDAIT) announces a call for project proposals for the 2022 Student IoT Innovation Capacity Building Challenge.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECo-sponsored by the School of Public Policy in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the GT VentureLab, the Challenge is a CDAIT initiative to advance the development of innovation, applications, policy, and activities, broadly, in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and applications.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;CDAIT\u0026nbsp;was delighted at the range and quality of the creative projects developed for inaugural Student IoT Innovation Capacity Building Challenge last year.\u0026nbsp;We are excited to be joined this year by co-sponsors School of Public Policy and GT VentureLab, which will expand the project seed funding for student collaborations focused on the Internet of Things,\u0026rdquo; said\u0026nbsp;Paul M.A. Baker, CDAIT\u0026rsquo;s chief operating officer. \u0026ldquo;We continue to look for multidisciplinary teams and proposals that address themes of broader social impacts, inclusion, and policy effects of IoT, while still addressing technological components. Unlike some of the other student challenges, we\u0026nbsp;focus\u0026nbsp;on bringing more traditional\u0026nbsp;technology research together with applied and industry focused efforts that can\u0026nbsp;generate real world impacts.\u0026rdquo; \u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECDAIT seek proposals from multidisciplinary teams made up of students across various schools and colleges, especially students from social sciences and humanities.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EProjects this year, should focus on (but are not limited to) the following areas:\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003Ehealthcare\/biomedical, assistive\/inclusive, enhanced living domains (e.g. IoMT);\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003Eindustrial and manufacturing processes (e.g. IIoT),\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003Eorganizational\/digital transformation (public and business); and\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003Epolicy approaches addressing broader social impacts, inclusion, and innovation\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EUp to $3,000 in research support for materials and supplies will be provided to as many as six Challenge Teams.
