653178 news 1638214875 1638292204 <![CDATA[Leibert Collaborates on Science Gallery Atlanta “Hooked” Exhibition and Hackathon]]> Mark Leibert, professor of practice in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, is collaborating with David Schweidel, professor of marketing at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, for the Science Gallery Atlanta’s inaugural exhibition, “Hooked.”

In preparation for “Hooked,” Schweidel and Leibert are seeking collaboration via a month-long hackathon. According to the website, the hackathon addresses “how social media creates an addictive alternate reality space that is monetized by brands and individuals” by challenging participants “to use machine learning to help demonstrate and quantify the space between ‘perfect’ and ‘unfiltered’ images, and how companies monetize that gap.”

The multi-week challenge is open to all college students interested in art, design, software design, user experience design, machine learning, and business. Deliverables must be submitted by Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, 11:59 p.m. ET.
