{"653814":{"#nid":"653814","#data":{"type":"news","title":"MSEEM Problem-solving Night Combines Networking, Hands-on Learning","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EOne of the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy\u0026rsquo;s areas of expertise is \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/spp.gatech.edu\/research-areas\/environmental-energy\u0022\u003Eenergy, climate, and environmental policy\u003C\/a\u003E. Nowhere is this focus better reflected than in the School\u0026rsquo;s Master of Sustainable and Environmental Management (\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/spp.gatech.edu\/masters\/mseem\u0022\u003EMSEEM\u003C\/a\u003E) program, where students are given the skills to tackle the world\u0026rsquo;s sustainability problems. Recently, MSEEM students were able to put their sustainability skills to the test, while also networking with potential employers, when the program hosted its first-ever problem-solving night.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESustainability-focused companies and organizations had previously expressed an interest in getting to know MSEEM students for the purpose of developing potential capstone projects with and\/or employing them. Therefore, program administrators took the opportunity to bring students and organizations together.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAt the problem-solving night, each organization gave a short presentation about itself before dealing out a sustainability challenge for the students to solve. MSEEM students worked alongside other sustainability-focused graduate students from the School of Public Policy, Scheller College of Business, and H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
