{"654440":{"#nid":"654440","#data":{"type":"event","title":"Artist-In-Residence Workshop Series: Science Fictions in Real Time","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/library.gatech.edu\/news\/tech-library-partners-renowned-artist-deanna-sirlin\u0022\u003EArtist-in-Residence Deanna Sirlin\u003C\/a\u003E continues her residency at the Georgia Tech Library Feb. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Library\u0026#39;s Crosland Tower second floor classroom with a workshop entitled \u0026ldquo;Science Fictions in Real Time.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EUsers will create a Utopian\/Dystopian environment using Adobe Photoshop.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EParticipants will take photo(s) with their phones of a place in Crosland Tower or the Price Gilbert Library, either looking out from or into the building. Using Photoshop, participants will learn techniques to alter the photo into a science fiction tableau.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EParticipants will have access to Photoshop using the in-room computers.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis workshop is open to Georgia Tech students, staff, and faculty.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/science-fictions-in-real-time-photoshop-digital-manipulation-workshop-tickets-259717170047\u0022\u003EFull information is available here. \u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EABOUT DEANNA SIRLIN\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ESirlin received an MFA in Painting from Queens College, following a BA in Art from SUNY Albany.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EShe has received grants and awards from the Judith Alexander Foundation; the Nexus Fund; US Artists; Georgia Chapter of The National Museum of Women in the Arts; The US State Department; and a Creative Capital Warhol Foundation award. Sirlin has had artist residencies at Yaddo; the Mark Rothko Centre, Latvia; the Cini Foundation Venice,\u0026nbsp;Italy;\u0026nbsp;Padies\u0026nbsp;Foundation,\u0026nbsp;Lempaut, France; and the City of Nuremberg, Germany.
