<p>Attendees will get a virtual look at several illustrations from this nine-volume set, which contains more than 3,000 pages and 600 hand-colored maps of the world. Participants will also learn about how these books were created and their contributions to astronomy, cartography, and 17th century European understanding of the globe.</p>

<p>Attendees in the Atlanta-area are invited to stop by the Georgia Tech Library and see the Atlas in person from noon to 1:30 p.m.</p>
