To eliminate this bottleneck, I have developed an automated system that employs a microfluidic device and computer vision algorithms to allow self-directed genetic screening of the organism \u003Cem\u003EC. elegans\u003C\/em\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMelissa Kinney\u003C\/strong\u003E - Advisor, Todd McDevitt\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0022Hyrdodynamic Mixing MOdulates Embryonic Stem Cell Differentiation Independent of Embryoid Body Size\u0022\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EEmbryonic stem cells are a promising source for the production of large cell yields for therapies aimed to replace or regenerate damaged or diseased tissues.\u0026nbsp; This work demonstrates the ability to systematically control embryoid body size and formation, in order to analyze of the impact of hydrodynamic environments imparted during mixing in scalable suspension cultures.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Graduate and Post-Doc (GaP) Seminar Series is a weekly event of biotechnology related research presentations by two graduate students or post-docs of IBB and is co-sponsored by BME.
