  <title><![CDATA[SMART Sea Level Sensors: Monitoring the rise in water levels around our area]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>From Georgia Tech researchers to departments within Chatham County, the city of Savannah, and even a&nbsp;local high school &mdash; all of these groups are working to develop the <a href="https://www.sealevelsensors.org">SMART Sea Level Sensors Program</a> to deal with the effects of flooding&nbsp;in the low-lying Savannah area. About 50 sensors have already been deployed through the program.&nbsp;<a href="https://eas.gatech.edu/people/cobb-dr-kim">Kim Cobb</a>, Georgia Power Chair,&nbsp;ADVANCE Professor in the <a href="https://eas.gatech.edu">School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences</a>,&nbsp;and director of Georgia Tech&#39;s <a href="https://globalchange.gatech.edu">Global Change Program </a>is a&nbsp;co-leader&nbsp;of the Sea Level Sensors project.&nbsp;</p>
