The showcase is the culmination of I2P, where Georgia Tech students spend a semester turning their invention idea into a working product. Students earn research credit in addition to receiving financial support and faculty mentorship.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis semester\u0026rsquo;s winner, a second-year computer science student at Georgia Tech, developed a smart legal workdesk that helps attorneys re-engineer their work environment.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;CaseDocker allows lawyers and law firms to manage their clients, cases, calendar, billing and other tasks from one central platform that is accessible anywhere at any time,\u0026rdquo; said Singhal. \u0026ldquo;It helps lawyers save time so they can focus more on billable work.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EIn addition, CaseDocker provides users with a customizable real-time dashboard, channels to communicate and collaborate with associates, and a secure cloud environment, eliminating the need for physical case files.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile developing CaseDocker, Singhal had to overcome challenges, including understanding customer requirements.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;The legal field is a field that is slow to accept technology, thus it was hard to initially understand what lawyers would be willing\u0026nbsp;to pay for,\u0026rdquo; said Singhal.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EToday CaseDocker offers various monthly and yearly subscription services and has over 500 paying customers in India. So, where does the startup go from here? Singhal plans to expand CaseDocker to the U.S. market and sell to more customers.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhen asked what advice he would give to other students interested in I2P or another CREATE-X program, Singhal suggested every Yellow Jacket participate in CREATE-X.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It is one of the best programs at Georgia Tech,\u0026rdquo; said Singhal. \u0026ldquo;CREATE-X has helped me connect with many people and has helped me learn the fundamentals of launching a startup.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ECREATE-X also awarded prizes for second and third place at the showcase. Teams accepted into the program will have the opportunity to advance their invention idea towards a real product by performing basic research, analysis, building, and testing. They will receive a $500 reimbursement for physical expenses along with course credit and mentorship from a Georgia Tech faculty member.
