{"658572":{"#nid":"658572","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Flexwork Reminders for Summer","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EAs we embark upon the summer semester, with fewer students on campus, Georgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s senior leadership strongly encourages employees to utilize the available workplace flexibility and managers to foster innovative work arrangements that support employee wellness.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThere are a variety of ways employees on the main campus can leverage flexibility\u0026nbsp;while maintaining, and often increasing, productivity, especially in the summer work period between \u003Cstrong\u003EJune 6 and August 5\u003C\/strong\u003E.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;As we enter the summer months, it is the ideal time to remind the campus community of existing flexwork arrangements that are available to them,\u0026rdquo; said Skye Duckett, vice president and chief human resources officer. \u0026ldquo;Finding that balance between work and life is important to our well-being, and we encourage everyone to make use of these arrangements where and when they can.\u0026rdquo;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EFlexible Work Arrangements\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Flexwork Arrangements \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/policylibrary.gatech.edu\/flexwork-arrangements\u0022 target=\u0022_blank\u0022\u003Epolicy\u003C\/a\u003E covers multiple work arrangements, including hybrid and fully remote work scenarios. As stated in the policy, decisions to implement flexible work will be made by an employee\u0026rsquo;s unit leadership. There are three types of flexible work arrangements:\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cul\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ECompressed Workweek\u003C\/strong\u003E allows an employee to work a traditional 40-hour work week in less than five days.\u0026nbsp;\u2028\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFlextime \u003C\/strong\u003Eallows employees to change their arrival, departure, and lunch times to come in earlier or leave later than the organization\u0026#39;s normal hours.\u0026nbsp;\u2028\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\t\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETelecommuting\u003C\/strong\u003E allows employees to work away from the conventional or main office.\u0026nbsp;\u2028\u003C\/li\u003E\r\n\u003C\/ul\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Ch4\u003EEmployee Well-Being\u003C\/h4\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe Institute\u0026rsquo;s strategic plan reiterates the commitment to a collaborative, holistic approach to campus health and well-being through inclusive environments where all our students and employees can flourish and be fulfilled. Additionally, during the summer months, Fridays will be a \u0026ldquo;no meeting\u0026rdquo; day for internal meetings.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThis commitment across Tech\u0026#39;s main campus will help ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to focus on their work, catch up on existing projects, and find new ways to keep everyone connected to their work.
