{"658643":{"#nid":"658643","#data":{"type":"news","title":"Pinar Keskinocak Recognized for Outstanding Service at Georgia Tech","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003ESchool of Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor \u003Cstrong\u003EPinar Keskinocak\u003C\/strong\u003E was recognized at \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/news.gatech.edu\/news\/2022\/05\/11\/tech-celebrates-outstanding-faculty-staff-members\u0022\u003EGeorgia Tech\u0026rsquo;s annual 2022 Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon\u003C\/a\u003E with the Class of 1934 Outstanding Service Award. The award recognizes her long service both to the Institute and to her field.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EKeskinocak has long served as a leader with the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). A fellow with the institute, she has served as president, vice president of membership and professional recognition, and is the co-founder and former president of the INFORMS Section on Public Programs, Service, and Needs, and the president of the INFORMS Health Applications Society.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAt Georgia Tech she has also served as the College of Engineering Advance Professor for six years and was a leading voice over the past three years of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to working with the Georgia Department of Public Health, she served on the Institute\u0026rsquo;s Covid task force helping to establish an institutional approach to the pandemic.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;It\u0026rsquo;s an honor, first of all, to have had the opportunity to serve,\u0026rdquo; she said. \u0026ldquo;Our communities at Georgia Tech and beyond are wonderful, so to be recognized among all of these outstanding contributors is a great honor.\u0026rdquo;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EKeskinocak\u0026rsquo;s research focuses on the application of operations research and management science with society impact, particularly regarding health and humanitarian applications, supply chain management, and logistics. She is the director of ISyE\u0026rsquo;s Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems.
