This unique, 111-year-old tradition is open to\u0026nbsp;\u003Cstrong\u003Efirst-year\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Georgia Tech students. This race dates back to 1911 when the first race was held as an open cross-country run at Georgia Tech. Two years later, some of the faculty member\u0026rsquo;s wives began baking cakes for the winners, and the name \u0026quot;Cake Race\u0026quot; was born. While the race\u0026rsquo;s original purpose was to scout men for the track team, today\u0026#39;s participants are encouraged to run, jog, or walk. Each participant receives a cupcake upon completion and the male and female winners receive cakes and get to meet the winner of Ramblin Royalty!\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EFAQs\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWill the event be filmed?\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/strong\u003EGeorgia Tech\u0026#39;s Drone Club, RotorJacket, will be on-site to film\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWill you have vegan\/dairy-free\/gluten-free cupcakes?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Yes!\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EDo I have to run?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u0026nbsp;Definitely not.
