The mission is\u0026nbsp;to produce significant new knowledge and translate these discoveries into benefits for human and environmental health.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cem\u003EThis installment of the Faces of Research Q\u0026amp;A series is with \u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/biosciences.gatech.edu\/people\/teresa-snow\u0022\u003ETeresa Snow\u003C\/a\u003E, a senior academic professional in the School of Biological Sciences.\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat is your field of expertise and why did you choose it?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nI am both a kinesiologist and a statistician.\u0026nbsp;At Georgia Tech, I serve a primary role in teaching and learning and a secondary role as a consultant on human performance and clinical research projects.\u0026nbsp;I have always enjoyed research, but my interests were in using the data to visualize and explain human phenomena.\u0026nbsp;Being a consultant\u0026nbsp;allows me to work with a variety of researchers on different projects.\u0026nbsp;I like the challenge and diversity that brings.\u0026nbsp;As a teacher, I love working with Georgia Tech students to improve their own health and develop solutions to improve the health of communities.\u0026nbsp;Our students are extremely motivated and creative.\u0026nbsp;It is very rewarding to see them develop as both learners and researchers.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat makes Ga Tech research institutes unique?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nWe have the best of the best.\u0026nbsp;They are the leaders in their respective fields.\u0026nbsp;The innovation and leveraging of technology to develop solutions to some of the world\u0026rsquo;s most complex problems is exciting and extraordinary.\u0026nbsp;The collaborations bring unique perspectives and challenges us all to think and approach problems in different ways.\u0026nbsp;You feel that you are a\u0026nbsp;part of an effort that is constantly growing and improving.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat impact is your research having on the world?\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nPart of my impact is in helping young researchers design better studies so that mistakes which can affect both their data and data analyses are avoided.
