The School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) will participate in Fall 2022 Commencement festivities by conferring 23 graduate degrees, Dec. 16, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EDonning her gold, velvet robe and tam for the first time,\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/xiaojingan.com\/\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EXiaojing An\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(Ph.D. CSE 22) will walk across the stage at the doctoral ceremony, set for 10 a.m. While attending Georgia Tech, An studied under School of CSE Professor\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/cse.gatech.edu\/people\/umit-v-catalyurek\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u0026Uuml;mit V. \u0026Ccedil;ataly\u0026uuml;rek\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;where she specialized in research on high performance sparse computation and data tiling.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EAn\u0026rsquo;s next step is to work at Meta where she will apply knowledge and experience attained through her Ph.D. studies.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0026ldquo;My favorite memory from Georgia Tech is hanging out with my amazing friends in the lab,\u0026rdquo; An said. \u0026ldquo;They all have great vibes, positive attitudes, and they were all super nice and supportive. He is advised by School of CSE Professor\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/cse.gatech.edu\/people\/richard-vuduc\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ERich Vuduc\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;and School of Computer Science Senior Research Scientist\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/people\/jeffrey-young\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EJeff Young\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Ca href=\u0022http:\/\/apaarshanker.org\/\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EApaar Shanker\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;(MS CSE-CSE 22) studies under Regents\u0026rsquo; Professor\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/cse.gatech.edu\/people\/surya-kalidindi\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESurya Kalidindi\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E, who holds a joint appointment between the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of CSE. Shanker\u0026rsquo;s research focuses on developing artificial intelligence tools for automating and accelerating materials discovery.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003ETech no longer holds summer graduation activities, so nine School of CSE graduates that\u0026nbsp;\u003Ca href=\u0022https:\/\/www.cc.gatech.edu\/news\/summer-class-joins-alumni-cohort\u0022\u003Ecompleted degrees this past summer\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;will have the opportunity to participate in the Fall 2022 Commencement.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EWhile \u0026ldquo;getting out\u0026rdquo; of Tech is the crowning achievement for many of these graduates today, bright futures still lay ahead.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThese graduates will move on to work in industry, academia, and national labs, embodying the School of CSE as a diverse, interdisciplinary innovation ecosystem composed of award-winning researchers.
