{"664862":{"#nid":"664862","#data":{"type":"event","title":"GVU Center Brown Bag, Mary Ann Weitnauer: Raise Your Hand \u2013 An Electrical Engineer\u2019s First Effort at Interactive Multimedia Digital Art","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAbstract:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe \u003Cem\u003ERaise Your Hand\u003C\/em\u003E exhibit, shown in the lobby of the Ferst Center on 1-14 November, 2022, used LIDAR and camera-based pose detection from participants to control parameters in Arduino-controlled mechatronics and in original music and video. \u0026nbsp;The combination of interactive mechatronics along with interactive music and video distinguish this exhibit different from many other reported interactive art installations in recent years. \u0026nbsp;The purpose of the exhibit was to entertain participants and to investigate what aspects of the exhibit were most effective. \u0026nbsp;The talk will describe the exhibit and the results collected from four focus groups and 200+ online survey responses.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ESpeaker Bio:\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EMary Ann Weitnauer has been a professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech since 1989 and was Senior Associate Chair there from 2016-2021.
