Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nGeorgia Tech \/ Emory University\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u0026nbsp;\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\nThe Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics (CFM) Laboratory at Georgia Tech has been one of the pioneering laboratories in the world studying the function and mechanics of heart valves and other complex cardiac defects.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe CFM lab is in the Biomedical Engineering Department, located at Technology Enterprise Park. The lab\u2019s Director, Lakshmi Prasad Dasi, Ph.D., is an established heart valve inventor and engineer. He has over 15 years of academic research experience. He is currently a Rozelle Vanda Wesley Professor and the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies at the Walter H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech.\u003C\/p\u003E\r\n\r\n\u003Cp\u003EThe lab was established in 1979 by Ajit Yoganathan, Ph.D., in the Chemical Engineering Department at Georgia Tech.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\r\n\u003Cem\u003EThe IBB Breakfast Club Seminar Series was started with the spirit of the Institute\u0027s interdisciplinary mission in mind to feature local IBB faculty member\u0027s research in a seminar format. Faculty are often asked to speak at other universities and conferences, but do not often present at their home institution - this seminar series is an attempt to close that gap.
