The CFM lab is in the Biomedical Engineering Department, located at Technology Enterprise Park. The lab’s Director, Lakshmi Prasad Dasi, Ph.D., is an established heart valve inventor and engineer. He has over 15 years of academic research experience. He is currently a Rozelle Vanda Wesley Professor and the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies at the Walter H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech.

The lab was established in 1979 by Ajit Yoganathan, Ph.D., in the Chemical Engineering Department at Georgia Tech.

The IBB Breakfast Club Seminar Series was started with the spirit of the Institute's interdisciplinary mission in mind to feature local IBB faculty member's research in a seminar format. Faculty are often asked to speak at other universities and conferences, but do not often present at their home institution - this seminar series is an attempt to close that gap. IBB Breakfast Club Seminars are open to anyone in the bio-community.
