Please come join us for an exciting dialogue with Professor Juan Lucena, Director of the Humanitarian Engineering Undergraduate Program and Professor of Engineering, Design and Society at the Colorado School of Mines. Professor Lucena will explore the themes that animate his teaching and scholarship, and explore with attendees the idea that "engineers and engineering have culture that can be studied and, if necessary, transformed for the wellbeing of communities, social justice, and sustainability." This event will take place in the ninth floor Atrium of the CODA building. A reception will follow the program, and attendees will be warmly invited to continue the conversation. About Liam Rattray & Liam's Legacy:
The Liam's Legacy Symposium honors the memory of Liam Rattray, an outstanding and socially-committed Georgia Tech Honors Program student who was tragically killed by a drunk driver just a few weeks after his graduation, in 2011. We mourn his death, but we also celebrate his life in this annual event that carries his name and draws upon his legacy of engagement and activism.
