He is an entrepreneur and a\nman of great vision,\u201d said Georgia Tech President G. P. \u201cBud\u201d Peterson.\u0026nbsp; \u201cHe brings a wealth of experience and will be\nan asset to our faculty.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EUnder Todd\u2019s leadership, the Georgia Cancer\nCoalition invested more than $300 million to support research and prevention\nefforts to reduce cancer deaths. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ETodd\u0027s 39-year career has focused on healthcare and\ntechnology management in Atlanta. He was the founding president of the Georgia\nResearch Alliance in 1990, nurturing the independent not-for-profit\norganization that has helped build Georgia\u0027s reputation as a center for\ndiscovery and invention and fostered major advances in science, medicine and\ntechnology. He also founded Encina Technology Ventures in 2000. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ETodd began his career at Emory University hospitals, clinics\nand the medical school, where he held a variety of administrative posts during\ntwo decades, ultimately serving as assistant vice president for Medical\nAdministration at the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EA 1971 graduate of Georgia Tech\u2019s College of Management,\nTodd attended the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.\nIn 2000, he received an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of\nUlster in Northern Ireland. In 2010, Georgia Tech awarded Todd the Ivan Allen\nJr. Prize for Progress and Service.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ETodd is past board chairman of the Georgia Tech Alumni\nAssociation and a former board member of the Georgia Tech Foundation. He is\ncurrently serving on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the\nAmerican Cancer Society and Georgia Tech-Ireland. He is a past president of the\nRotary Club of Atlanta and a member of the Commerce Club and Druid Hills and\nEast Lake Golf Clubs. A fourth generation Atlantan, he has been named one of\nthe \u0022100 Most Influential People in Georgia\u0022 by \u003Cem\u003EGeorgia Trend\u003C\/em\u003E for seven years.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003ETodd and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, both Georgia\nTech graduates.
