The Georgia Institute of
Technology has notified the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)
that it will exercise its option to appeal the decision of the NCAA Division I
Committee on Infractions announced earlier this month.
While the specific grounds for
the appeal are under consideration, Georgia Tech was required to notify the
NCAA of its intent by July 28, 2011. The university will have 30 days to file a
written appeal.
