The Atlanta race benefits Children\u2019s Healthcare of Atlanta and Vibha, a nonprofit that supports education and health programs in the U.S. and India. Last year, the local race had its highest participation to date, with 1,400 runners, and raised more than $100,000.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EMusic and carnival-style games will be available after the race, and all race participants receive a t-shirt, chip timing and refreshments. \n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe Dream Mile begins at the Biotechnology Quad on Ferst Drive and loops through the interior streets of campus; a full race map is available at The Dream Mile\u2019s website. For those who may not be interested in the walk\/run aspect of the event, they may still participate in a pledge drive for the race beneficiaries.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\nThe 2011 Dream Mile begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1; registration is $25 until Sept. 25, and $30 until the day of the race.
