He served as \nDean of College of Social Sciences, SNU (2004-2006) and as the President\n of University Senate of Seoul National University (2007~August 31, 2011).\n He served as the President of Korean Regional Science Association \n(1997-2001), the President of Pacific Regional Science Conference \nOrganization (PRSCO) (2000-2001), the President of Korean Geographical \nSociety (2003-2004), and the Chair of the International Geographical \nUnion Commission on the Dynamics of Economic Spaces (2000-2004). \nCouncilor-at-Large of Regional Science Association-International (RSAI) \n(2009~). He also served as the Pacific Editor of Papers in Regional \nScience (1995-1997) and is currently an editorial board member of \nRegional Studies, Journal of Economic Geography, and Papers in Regional \nScience and Co-editor-in-Chief of The Korea Spatial Planning Review. He \nhas published more than 160 articles in English and Korean including \npapers in international journals such as, Papers in Regional Science, \nProgress in Human Geography, Economic Geography, Environment and \nPlanning A, Geoforum, Journal of Economic And Social Geography (TESG), \nand so on, and published 19 books on the locational dynamics of economic\n activities, regional development, high tech industries, industrial \nclusters and regional innovation systems. His recent research topics are\n regional innovation systems, industrial clusters, and dynamics of \neconomic spaces. He received several awards such as the Best Paper of \nthe Year by the Korea Federation of Science and Technology Societies \n(1997), the First Academic Award of Korean Geographical Society (2006), a\n Medal for Distinguished Activities of Research, SNU (2007), A National \nDistinguished Scholar in the field of Humanity and Social Sciences \n(2008). Dr. Park holds a BA and a MA in Geography, Seoul National \nUniversity (SNU), and Ph.
