Films on Demand Database Now Available Through Georgia Tech Library

Georgia Tech faculty,
staff, and students can access thousands of educational videos and film clips
thanks to a new resource offered through the Library – Films on Demand.

Films on Demand is a state-of-the-art, subscription-based video platform that makes
it easier for faculty to integrate academic videos into their classroom lessons
or distance learning courseware.

“This unique, interdisciplinary
resource supports the teaching and learning mission for Georgia Tech faculty
and students,” said Ameet Doshi, Economics Librarian and head of the Library’s
User Experience Department.

The Georgia Tech
community has instant access to more than 6,000 film titles from any computer
or mobile device with a high-speed connection. With a large selection of
disciplines to choose from, including everything from documentaries about mathematics
to world languages and anthropology to computer science, using Films on Demand eliminates the hassle
and stress that comes with borrowing or purchasing DVDs. Each year, 600 new films
are added to Films on Demand.

“Films on Demand has many special collections that faculty, staff,
and students can explore and integrate into the classroom. These include Scientific
American Frontiers, Nova, Frontline, WideAngle, and Bill Moyers collection among others,” Doshi added.
