{"72816":{"#nid":"72816","#data":{"type":"news","title":"New \u0022Quick-Use, Walk-Up\u0022 Computers Added in Library","body":[{"value":"\u003Cp\u003EIn\nan effort to reduce long lines for quick printer and computer access, the Georgia\nTech Library has installed eight new quick-use, walk-up computers in the\nLibrary East Commons (LEC) on 1\u003Csup\u003Est\u003C\/sup\u003E floor East. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe hope that students will use these new\ncomputer stations to complete tasks that only take a few minutes and leave the\ncomputer clusters for others with more time-consuming assignments,\u201d said Cari\nLovins, Department Manager in the Office of Information Technology. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\n\n\u003Cp\u003ELocated on the counter of the former Circulation\nDesk, these computers are now on-line and available for use. Computer\ncapabilities include: Microsoft Office, Internet access, printing and a few\nother applications frequently used by students. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe\nquick-use stations were first introduced to the Library based on user surveys\nthat indicated a growing concern among students about line congestion. Quick-use\nterminals were added to the Library West Commons (LWC) at that time but have\nbeen removed while the furniture is being repaired.
