A detailed schedule will be posted in January.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EThe event is a hotbed for musicians and artists who are pushing the boundaries of music performance. \u003Cem\u003EWired\u003C\/em\u003E magazine has called it the \u201cX-Prize for music,\u201d and contestants have likened it to a TED Conference for new musical instrument designers.\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003E\u201cWe want the competition to be the place to see, experience and engage the future of music,\u201d said Gil Weinberg, Director of the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology. \u201cIt\u2019s also a platform for bringing like-minded inventors and composers together from all over the world to have their ideas judged by a preeminent panel of independent experts.\u201d\u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EInstruments will be judged on musicality, design and engineering by an expert panel including Atau Tanaka, media artist and researcher, and Cyril Lance, chief engineer at electronic musical instrument manufacturer Moog Music. \u003C\/p\u003E\n\n\u003Cp\u003EOn his approach to judging the competition, Tanaka explained,\u0026nbsp;\u201cThere is a disruptive power in questioning traditional musical \u0026nbsp;roles of authorship and performance.
