In his\nFebruary 22 talk at the Atlanta Fed he will use the most recent demographic\ndata to outline the new facts and debunk some of the old rhetoric that shaped\npolicy debates on immigration. He will spotlight changes before and after the\nGreat Recession, illuminating how key immigration myths are now outdated. Fact-based\ntrends are revealed using an animated presentation to reinterpret the benefits\nand costs of immigration in light of the aging baby boomer tsunami.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAbout Dowell Myers\u003C\/strong\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EDowell Myers is\na professor in the University of Southern California\u003Cstrong\u003E \u003C\/strong\u003ESol Price School of\nPublic Policy and director of the Population Dynamics Research Group. Myers\nholds a Ph.D. in urban and regional planning from the Massachusetts Institute\nof Technology. Well-known as a specialist in demographic trends and their\nrelation to all areas of policy and planning, Myers has a particular expertise\nin projecting the future and conveying knowledge useful for public decision\nmaking. \u0026nbsp;Myers has testified before the U.S. Congress at Ellis Island and\nbefore the California Legislature.
