Wreck Camp Seeks Tradition-Minded Students for Summer 2012

Many students
know the stories of Sideways, Junior’s and the Mickey Mouse clock, but it takes
a while on campus to grasp the full scope of Georgia Tech’s many well-loved
traditions.

This summer, the
Office of New Student and Sophomore Programs launches Wreck Camp, an extended
orientation and traditions camp for incoming students. Wreck Camp will provide
students with more information about the Tech community and campus, teach
traditions and provide activities focused on leadership development and
diversity. The three-day, two-night experience will be an additional
opportunity for new students to meet and get to know each other in a summer
camp-style environment before beginning classes at Tech.

Wreck Camp is
now accepting applications for students to serve on its director staff and
assist in the planning and implementation of the inaugural camp this summer. Open
positions include director of membership relations, director of participant
relations, director of community outreach and director of operations. Students
must commit to working with Wreck Camp from Feb. 1 through Sept. 1. A dense
knowledge of Tech traditions is not required, as it will be integrated into
Wreck Camp training.

Applications are
due Friday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. and will be followed with interviews the next
week. Students may learn more about each director role through the online application, and should sign up for an interview time
at the Office of New Student and Sophomore Programs in Suite 141 of the Student
Services (Flag) Building.

Additional
qualifications:

Atlanta area during the summer of 2012 and available for the entire week
leading up to Wreck Camp 2012.

Be
