87501 news 1226883600 1475895771 <![CDATA[Graduate Student Awards for Fall 2008]]> Thanks to everyone who participated in the student research symposium and homecoming events this fall. We hosted a number of alumni and industrial representatives. The research symposium on Friday included five excellent presentations by senior graduate students who were finalists for the graduate student research awards. A committee of faculty and staff served as judges of the presentations. Congratulations to:

First Place ($1000):
Philseok Kim (Perry group)

Second Place ($750):
Chris Richard (Dickson group)

Third Place, tie ($300):
Srividya Mohan (Williams group)
Christina Young (Mizaikoff Group)

Runner-up ($100):
Doogie Oh (Orlando group)

In addition, awards for best posters ($75) were presented:

Graduate Student Poster - Glenn Harris (Fernandez group)

Undergraduate Student Poster - Cody Stone (Zhang group)

Outstanding Performance as a T.A. Awards were presented to:

JP Aragon, Diya Mohan, Dan Sabo, Gungor Ozer, and Alex Jonke.

Best Seminar award - Tina Dreaden

Other awards received after this event were:

Philseok Kim has been selected as a finalist for the 2008 MRS Graduate Student Award.

Kathy Woody has received an ACS Women Chemists Committee travel award, sponsored by Eli Lilly & Co, to present her work at the spring 09 ACS meeting.
