  <title><![CDATA[Boris Mizaikoff Named AAAS Fellow]]></title>
  <body><![CDATA[<p>Dr. Boris Mizaikoff, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has been elected to the rank of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) Fellow.</p>
<p>Each year the Council elects members whose "efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished."  The honor of being elected a Fellow of AAAS began in 1874 and is acknowledged with a certificate and a rosette.
</p>
<p>Dr. Mizaikoff is being honored for building bridges with industry through academic research in sensors and for facilitating technology transfer between academia and industry.
</p>
<p>The award will be presented on Saturday, February 17, 2007 in San Francisco during the AAAS Fellows Forum, a part of the Association's Annual Meeting.
