Twieg\u003C\/a\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nKent State University, Chemistry Department\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nOrganic Materials with Novel Optical and Electronic Properties\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u0022Synthesis, Properties and Applications of Dicyanomethylenedihydrofuran (DCDHF) Single Molecule Fluorophores\u0022\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EAspects of research on the single molecule fluorophore class of DCDHF dyes will be discussed.  The presentation will cover the history and design of the fluorophores, synthetic methodology for their preparation,structure-function photophysical relationships, single molecule evaluation and some examples of applications in biological systems.\n\u003C\/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EJoe Perry from the School of Chemistry \u0026amp; Biochemistry will be hosting the seminar.
